| 15.07.2011 U20 MEN DIVISION B The action in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina continues in the U20 European Championship Division B games as teams start to gain momentum towards the last stride of the Preliminary Round. Day 2 of the games in Group A saw Estonia win once again, this time 91-64 over Switzerland. Georgia also gained their second win with 87-75 against F.Y.R. of Macedonia behind a monster game by Tornike Shengelia who had 40 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. Romania bettered Poland 70-62 to win their first game. In Group B, Bulgaria joined the competition on Day Two in the worst way, with a 72-61 loss to Denmark. The Netherlands earned their first victory against Hungary, 83-78, despite 33 points and seven rebounds by Hungarian star Janos Eilingsfeld. Group C saw the Czech Republic display dominance again this time with a 77-55 victory over Portugal. Norway recovered from the tough loss on Day 1 by smashing Luxembourg 82-49. Finland made it two in a row with a 72-68 success over Great Britain, that have now lost both their games. The last group saw Israel join the circle of competition with a 78-73 victory over Iceland, that once again dropped a close game. Belgium showed their dominance with a 19-point-win, 83-64, over the hosting side of Bosnia and Herzegovina behind 27 points and 13 rebounds by Maarten Rademakers. |
