Balanced Russia Breeze By Belarus

Vasily Zavoruev scored 20 points leading Russia to an 86-52 blow-out of Belarus for their second straight victory in the quarter-final round of the Ostchem U20 European Championship.

Pavel Agapov added 15 points, and Maxim Sheleketo had 13 points and seven rebounds, while the duo combined for 16 points in a 20-4 run from the first to second quarters to open up a 15-point lead.

Parakhouski Effort Gives Belarus First Win

Belarus managed to avoid bottom place in Group A at the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship with an 84-77 defeat of Latvia.

The two sides entered the contest without a victory between them but it is Latvia who remain winless, thanks largely to Belarus center Artsiom Parakhouski.

Serbo-Montenegrins March On

Serbia and Montenegro continue to prosper at the Ostchem U20 European Championship - even without star center Tadija Dragicevic.

Dragicevic has yet to play in Izmir due to a leg injury sustained at the Global Games in Dallas last month but his country have still recorded wins from their opening two games, the second of which came Saturday with an 81-57 Group A defeat of Belarus.

Batina Leads Croatia To Victory

Marko Batina's 12 points led Croatia to a 64-58 win over Belarus in Group A of the Ostchem U20 European Championship Men in Izmir.

Belarus, fuelled by a game-high 17 points from Kanstantsin Yafremau, had led until the final moments of the third quarter.
