With the game knotted at 43-43 late in the third quarter, the Russians outscored the Italians 22-9 the remainder of the way.

Despite making just one of their 21 attempts from long range, the Russians were superior shooting the ball from inside the arc.
They finished 15 of 36 (46.8%) while the Italians were 11 of 31 (35.4%).
Meanwhile, Jana Raman scored 19 points as Belgium destroyed Poland 87-55.
The Belgian center also corralled 15 rebounds and blocked three shots as her team guaranteed themselves an 11th-place finish.
Poland struggled in every department and were down 28-8 after 10 minutes played.
By the end of the third quarter, Belgium had extended their lead to 65-39 en route to triumph.
