Oliwia Tomialowicz had a team-high 18 points for the Poles while team-mate Weronika Idczak added 17 - 13 coming in the opening half.
High-scoring Olesya Maleshenko poured in 18 points as the Ukraine train steamrolled Sweden 81-60 for a fourth consecutive victory at the UMCOR U18 European Championship Women.
Maleshenko had great support by Tayisiya Bovykina, who had 18 points, and Arina Lysyuk who scored 17.
Germany beat Italy 70-65 but it wasn’t sufficient to see them through to the last 16.
Having failed to win their previous two games, the Germans need to beat the Azzurre by a seven point margin to make it to the qualifying round but despite their efforts, it was not to be as the Italians instead took third in the group and advanced.
