Ukraine Announce EuroBasket Plans

Head coach Hennadiy Zaschuk has announced Ukraine's preparation plans for the preliminary round of Eurobasket 2005.

According to a Sport-Arena newspaper report, the plans for the tournament, which is played in Serbia & Montenegro in September, consists of three distinct stages.

At the first stage, in Yuzhny from July 18 to 29, the Ukrainian team will train together and have two warm-up games against Poland.

After August 10 the team will participate in World Universiada, where they will play against Greece, Estonia and Mexico.

Then the third stage will consist of three tournaments, in Bratislava, Spain and France, respectively.

It is believed the preparatory squad will consist of 37 players, with that number reduced to 24 for the official registration.
