Ukraine coach Gennadi Zashyk is delighted with the way his side is progressing towards the European Championships.
Ukraine got their preparations for next month's tournament in Sweden back on track with a 77-74 victory over Russia in a recent `Friendship Cup’ match.
That avenged a defeat by the Russians and although he admits there are still a few rough edges that need to be ironed out, Zashyk believes his side are developing nicely.
"We are doing all we planned and tried to do," he said.
"We have some problems, in the game and in the defence, (but) we have a lot to work with.
"The Russian team is one of the strongest in Europe and the world, and in order to be at their level we need to condition our players to concentrate during the preparation for European championship."
Ukraine have been drawn against Greece, Turkey and Croatia in Group D in the European Championship finals.
