Slovenia had no answer for an explosive overtime display from Ukraine in their EuroBasket Women qualifier on Saturday in Kranjska Gora.
The home side overcame an 11-point deficit in the final five minutes of regular time to force the extra period, with Natasa Radulovic's jump shot with 11 seconds to go tying the scores at 84-84.
Momentum seemed firmly on Slovenia's side, but Ukraine stopped Slovenia dead in their tracks with an offensive masterclass in the final five minutes.
Ukraine scored 21 points in overtime on 5/6 field goal shooting (2/2 on three-pointers) and 9/11 from the free throw line.
It took just 28 seconds for Ukraine to outscore Slovenia 8-0 and take a 92-84 lead.
Slovenia were forced to foul Ukraine to stop the clock, but the tactic did not pay off. Ukraine buried 6/8 free throws to close the game and a Oksana Solonar in the final seconds capped a 105-92 win.
Forward Olena Krykunenko scored 11 of her game high 28 points in overtime. Lyubov Alyoshkina weighed in with 19 points and 17 rebounds and Oxana Pys'Mennyk added 20 points.
Ukraine and Slovenia both stand 1-1 in Group B and take on Israel and Turkey respectively in their next games.
