The Czech Republic continue to be a hit in the Termosteps U16 European Championship Men, this time with a 72-49 win over Ukraine in Group E of the Qualifying Round.
The Czech Republic now have a 3-0 record, while Ukraine is down to an 0-3 balance.
Martin Kriz led the winning side with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Milan Ryska had 17 points and 12 rebounds while Vaclav Honomichi scored 11 with three assists and Tomas Vyoral added 11.
Olexandr Mishula hit 13 points for Ukraine and Oleksandr Prokopenko added 12.
Ukraine was the team to be on top of this game in the first quarter, but by half time the Czech Republic already had the lead.
The second half was nothing but a domination show of the Czech team who easily climbed to a 23 point win.
Mishula and Prokopenko participated in the great start of Ukraine when they took a 15-4 lead but from that moment on there was only one team in charge of this game.
The Czechs made a 17-2 run to take the lead with Ryska being crowned as king of the paint.
Kriz and his great rebounding skills helped finish the break with a four point lead, 31-27 but once the second half started it was a one sided performance.
Prokopenko hit from long range to register a 37-30 difference, but then came 15 points in a row by the Czech Republic that decided the game for good.
The Czechs will face Spain tomorrow in the main show of the day while Ukraine will take on Greece.
