Oleksandra Prystupa poured in 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in leading Ukraine to a 94-65 victory over Montenegro at the U20 European Championship for Women to secure them third place in the Qualifying Round Group F.
Oksana Kisilova added 17 points for the Ukrainians, who improved to 2-3 and will now play in the fifth-eighth group. Arina Lysyuk had 13 points and Olena Samburska added 12.
Montenegro dropped to 0-5 and finished last in the group despite 21 points from Snezana Aleksic and 17 by Milica Jovanovic.
Montenegro played well with Ukraine in the early stages, leading the game 13-11. Prystupa hit back-to-back baskets as Iryna Nagorna's team grabbed the lead and were up 19-13 after one period. The Divison A debutants scored the first seven points of the second quarter and fought throughout in trailing just 37-33 at the break.
A Jovanovic three-point play made it 37-36 before Ukraine began to pull away. Prystupa scored 10 points in a 19-4 Ukraine spurt for a 56-40 advantage midway through the third. And the lead was 67-53 going into the fourth.
Prystupa continued to dominate with six more points while Lysyuk had seven as Ukraine just pulled away from Montenegro, increasing the lead to 33 points.
