Starting her career as a shooting guard, Spitkovska had to change position in the Ukrainian team after long-serving playmaker Inna Kochubei decided to call it a day and retire from the international scene. The lack of point guards forced Coach Czeczuro to experiment with combo-players talented enough to pass the ball and run up-tempo offence wisely. She is famous for her all-action approach and matches this new criteria competently by keeping a cool head even in the most complicated moments of the game. Last season she extended her versatile approach of handling the ball, by dishing almost five assists per game with her Kazakhstani club side. That means she is likely to have more confidence in playing as point guard in comparison with previous events with the first evidence of this seen in the 2nd Qualification Round last year.
