Three players scored in double figures to help France beat Ukraine 70-50 and collect their first victory of the U18 European Championship for Men.
Alexis Tanghe poured in 15 points, Florian Thibedore added 14 and Chrislain Cairo had 12 as France improved to 1-1 in Group C.
Urkaine dropped to 0-2 as they shot just 31 percent for the game. Ruslan Otverchenko hit for 12 points while Roman Dmytrenko had 11 and Oleksandr Osnach scored 10.
Neither offense started the game very effective with France pulling ahead 9-5 on Nicolas Lang's first three-pointer.
Oleksandr Lypovyy answered with a trey and another triple by Lang gave the French a 19-12 lead after one period. Jonathan Bourhis's three-ball pushed the advantage to 24-15 before Otverchenko cut the deficit to 24-22.
The French defense held Ukraine scoreless for nearly five minutes and Andrew Albicy's triple gave Phillippe Ory's team a 33-22 cushion, which the Ukrainians trimmed to 33-26 at the break.
Tanghe took over along with Thibedore, who combined for 10 points in an 11-0 run to open a 44-26 gap.
Dmytrenko finally scored for Oleg Ruban's side but Cairo pushed the lead to 20 points at 48-28. And France led 52-38 going into the fourth. Dmytrenko hit the first basket of the final period but Ory's men answered with a 12-0 surge to end all doubts with a 64-40 advantage.
