Greece Remain Perfect, Croatia Also In Charge
Greece improved to 3-0 at the GLOBAL VISION U18 European Championship for Women Division B in Timisoara with a 61-46 win over Portugal. Artemis Spanou and Anthoula Chatzigiakoumi scored 19 points a piece, with Chatzigiakoumi adding eight rebounds and three steals in the victory.
Greece lead Group A from hosts Romania, who were not in action on Saturday, with Switzerland in third after they beat Luxembourg 57-43 with the help of 12 points from Dorothee Studer.
Croatia have taken command of Group B by beating Bosnia & Herzegovina 67-46. Nina Premasunac scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Croatia moved to 2-0.
The win moves them clear of Germany, who fell 64-59 to Denmark as Gritt Ryder came up with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Group C leaders Finland went down 51-47 to England, who improved to 2-0 with the win to continue an impressive start. Temitope Fagbenie exploded for 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead Michael Ball's team, while Annika Holopainen led the resistance with 15 points for Finland.
The Finns were joined at 2-1 by Estonia, who topped Scotland 60-45 thanks to 18 points from Maaja Bratka.
Belarus improved to 2-0 in Group D with an 85-60 win over the Netherlands. Nadzeya Bohdan poured in 21 points and added 11 rebounds in an impressive victory.
Montenegro picked up their first win at the expense of Israel, with Kirstina Rakovic's 25 points and 14 rebounds the difference as they came from behind in the fourth quarter to edge the game 80-75.
