Croatia got 22 points and ten rebounds from Tomica Bacic on their way to winning the UMCOR U18 European Championship Women Division B, defeating host Romania 70-59 on Sunday.
Croatia came out of the gate quickly, leading 22-14 after one quarter before Romania bounced back, eventually pulling even and trailing by just one at half-time.
They then took the lead early in the third before Bacic asserted herself, scoring Croatia's next 11 points as they took the lead back for good.
The Croats would push their advantage, with the final margin of 11 being their largest lead.
The home team was led by Elisabeth Pavel who had 12 points to go with four rebounds.
Claudia Pop, one of the stars for Romania the entire tournament, was held to just nine points.
It was only the second time the entire tournament that Pop was held to single-digits scoring
