Andja Jelavic
Career: Centar Banka (1996-98) Adriatic osiguranje (1998-2001), Croatia (2001/02), Gospic (2002/03) Jolly Sibenik (Croatia-A1, 2003-08), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2008-09), Gospic Croatia (Croatia-A1, 2009-10), Wisla Can-Pack (Poland-PLKK, 2010-11)

One of the few survivors from the roster at EuroBasket Women 2007, Andja Jelavic is the captain and very much the leader of the team on and off the court. A talented playmaker with plenty of smarts, Jelavic loves to run the open court in transition and is happy to either finish it herself or find a team-mate. One of the best defenders on the team, she can get the job done at both ends of the court with her quick feet and quick hands. The veteran pulls the strings for the team and is one of the most influential and important players for Croatia. She has a wealth of experience not only in a National Team vest, having first stepped out during the summer of 2003, but also at club level where she has played regularly in European competitions. She made her name playing in Croatia and the Adriatic League where she has won a host of titles and personal awards. Having played briefly at Dynamo Moscow, she returned back to Croatia and produced one of the best seasons of her career with Gospic during 2009/10 when she averaged over 16 points per game in EuroLeague Women before then heading to Poland last summer. Jelavic has a knack for placing herself in the right position to pick up defensive rebounds and her ability to do a great job on the glass could be important for Croatia. She played a big hand with some pivotal contributions in just about every facet of the game last summer when Croatia won three out of their last four games to progress.
