The best shooting guard in Europe. Or so he says. He's playing in the NBA, but says no guard in Europe can match his skills. Giricek, who modeled his game after the late Drazen Petrovic, is the co-captain of a very ambitious national team. Just like all his team-mates he wants to clinch a spot for the 2006 World Championship. Hell, he even shoots higher: he wants the gold. "My goals are not personal, but collective: I want Croatia back on the top, where they belong". Giricek is not necessarily a man leader, but when skills are concerned, just name them, he has them all: tailor made body; excellent strength, quickness and jumping ability; shoots the lights out when he's hot; very good defender. A solid NBA player for three years now. Wants to come back to Utah in the fall with a medal from Belgrade. "At least" he says. Perhaps Gordan speaks out loud about what his country's has been dreaming of for a long time...
