Vitali Steers Italy To Victory

A 14-0 run in the fourth quarter helped Italy overcome Croatia 86-74 and book their place in the semi-finals of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championships.

Luca Vitali made eight free throws in the final 56 seconds to seal the victory, which gives Italy a 2-1 record in the Group F quarter-final round.

Turkey Dominates Croatia

Cenk Akyol and Ersan Ilyasova each scored 18 points as Turkey beat Croatia 91-72 to go top of Group F in the quarter-final round at the OSTCHEM U-20 European Championships.

With their home fans cheering them on, Turkey never trailed and pulled away in the first quarter. Croatia trailed 8-6 with 6:58 gone, but Ilyasova scored 10 points as the Turks went on a 20-5 run for a 28-13 lead after 10 minutes.

Croatia Too Strong For Greece

Croatia took the inside track to the semi-finals of the Ostchem U20 European Championship with an 87-72 triumph over Greece in Group F.

Both Rok Stipcevic and Hrvoje Kovacevic had 17 points and Stipcevic also pulled down nine rebounds in the convincing victory which marked the start of quarter-final action.

Dragovic Compensates For Dragicevic Absence

Serbia & Montenegro continued their march through Group A at the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship with a 78-72 defeat of Croatia.

With star center Tadija Dragicevic again watching from the sidelines having failed to overcome a leg injury sustained at the Global Games in Dallas last month, the Serbo-Montenegrins led for much of the contest and cemented their superiority in the third quarter, winning it 23-16.
