Some of Europe's most promising youth players that have played in FIBA Europe competitions also took center stage during the Euroleague Final Four weekend in Barcelona, including Croatia's Dario Saric.
The 17-year-old, who played at the U18 European Championship last year against players two years older than him and averaged 12.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as his side finished fifth, was crowned a champion in Barcelona after leading KK Zagreb to victory in the NIKE International Junior Tournament.
Saric had 19 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in a 76-65 triumph over Zalgiris Kaunas in the final and was named the MVP of the event.
The Croatian forward was the MVP of the 2010 U16 European Championship with 24.3 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
Saric and his KK Zagreb clubmate, Mario Hezonja, Stefan Popovski-Turanjan of FMP, Ignas Ramasauskas of Zalgiris and Guo Ailun of Team China also made the all-tournament team.
