Classification Round-Up: Spain Grab 5th, Italy 7th

Spain beat Russia 92-83 in the 5th-6th place game at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The Spanish took an 18-8 lead courtesy of Joan Llovet with 2:26 left in the first quarter but Russia came back in the second period, tying the game at 27 with just over seven minutes remaining before the break.

Classification Round-Up: Spain, Russia To Battle For 5th

Spain will face Russia in Sunday's 5th-6th place game at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

The Spaniards beat Italy 84-72 thanks to some balanced scoring which saw five players score in double-digits.

Lithuania Find Range Late To See Off Croatia

Lithuania found their shooting touch late in the game to pull away and beat Croatia 74-55 in the quarter-finals at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

After three quarters, the Lithuanians led 49-47 but had made just 19 of their 66 field goal attempts.

Serbia needed overtime to overcome Croatia 77-70 on the final day of the Qualifying Round at the U18 European Championship Men 2009 in Metz, France.

In a game that was tight for the most part, Branislav Djekic drained a three-pointer to tie the game at 64 with 35 seconds left in the game.
