Belgrade has long been considered one of the basketball hotbeds of Europe.

That was reconfirmed early Saturday night when Serbia & Montenegro edged Croatia in the U18 European Championship Men in a packed gym.

Turkey blew away Croatia with a strong second-half performance on Friday in the teams' opening game of the U18 European Championship Men in Belgrade.

Croatia led 41-40 at half-time but were outscored 22-14 over the next 10 minutes.
