Andrija Zizic

Career: Plastik Solin (Croatia-second division, 1997-1998), Split (Croatia, 1998-2003), Cibona Zagreb (Croatia, 2003-05), F.C. Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 2005-…).

If Croatia want to have a shot at the medal, their big men must go to work from the start. Coach Spahija hopes that Andrija Zizic will bring his toughness and offensive finesse in the paint and contribute to the comeback folks back in Zagreb hope this EuroBasket will signal for their home country. A tough, hard nosed defender, solid rebounder and talented attacker, Zizic is a player from the famous Split basketball school. He spent most of his career in his hometown club and then logically moved to the ranks of the Croatian champion Cibona, and then ultimately to the Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, over a money dispute with his club back home. At this EuroBasket, he will likely be doing his work from the bench, but on a team less deep inside, Andrija would almost certainly be a starter.
