Some seven years after her last youth tournament, the guard was brought in from the cold by Coach Bralic who handed her an opportunity at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, where she impressed enough to cling to her place and step out at London 2012. Whilst she endured a disappointing shooting performance, Salopek is also known for her defensive capabilities and could well be called upon to help lock down opposing shooters. That is perhaps also one of the reasons that her national team coach signed her for his club team, Gospic Croatia, where she has averaged over 15 points-per-game and helped get the team to the Championship final.
