Goran Jagodnik - EuroBasket 2011 Profile

Team 2010-11: Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia-1A)

Career: Koper (Slovenia-1A, 1991-94), Triglav Kranj (Slovenia-1A, 1994-99), Turk Telekom (Turkey-TBL, 1999-2000), Mydonose Kolejliler (Turkey-TBL, 2000-01), Adecco Olympique Lausanne (Switzerland, 2000-01), Lokomotiv Mineralnye Vody (Russia-Superleague, 2001-02), Prokom Trefl Sopot (Poland-PLK, 2002-06), Dynamo Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 06-07), Legea Scafati Basket (Italy-Lega A, 2006-07), WTK Anwil Wloclawek (Poland-DBL, 2007), KK Hemofarm Stada (Serbia-BLS, 2007-08), CEZ Nymburk (Czech Rep.-NBL, 2008-09), Hopsi Polzela (Slovenia-SKL, 2009), Hemofarm (Serbia, 2009-2010) Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia-SKL, 2010-11)

A National Team player for almost 15 years, Goran Jagodnik is by far the most senior member on the Slovenia roster and could well be the oldest player at EuroBasket 2011. Despite heavy rumours of international retirement after EuroBasket 2009, Jagodnik returned to the team for the FIBA World Championship in Turkey last summer. The globetrotter who has played for a host of clubs across Europe prides himself on his shooting, and is most comfortable when he is shooting the ball from the corner or near the baseline. He is very accurate from those areas in particular and if left open, he will knock them down and can punish any opponent. The veteran is also a strong rebounder at both ends of the floor. His veteran leadership could be important if he is called upon again.
