Greece Capture Bronze

60 years after winning their first, and last, bronze medal the Greek team will take the podium tonight in the third position after edging Slovenia 57-56 in the bronze medal game on Sunday in Katowice.

This is the second time Greece will go home with a medal in the last four years after winning the gold at EuroBasket 2005.

Plenty To Cheer About

Greece and Slovenia will battle it out for the bronze medal when they meet in EuroBasket 2009's 3^rd-4^th place game in Katowice on Sunday.

The Greeks were hammered by bitter rivals Spain 82-64. The game was close in the first quarter, but after Juan Carlos Navarro buried a three to give the world champions their first double-digit lead of the night, 31-21, early in the second quarter, they were rarely threatened.

Milos Teodosic exploded for 32 points as Serbia edged Slovenia 96-92 in overtime on Saturday night to reach the EuroBasket Final.

Dusan Ivkovic's men will take on Spain in Sunday's gold-medal game, a team they beat in their Group C Preliminary Round opener in Warsaw.
