Nicolo Melli put in a monstrous performance as he led Italy to a 62-51 win over Slovenia in Iraklio.

Melli scored 16 points and pulled down 17 rebounds for Antonio Bocchino’s men, who were pushed to dig deep throughout the game by Slovenia but never trailed after going in front 22-21 on a Andrea De Nicolao free-throw with six minutes left in the second quarter.
