The U18 European Championship for Men doesn't tip off until July 23 in France but the performances of three players at a warm-up tournament in Slovenia have left fans salivating for more.

Slovenia's Edo Muric, Serbia's Dejan Musli and Turkey's Enes Kanter set the world alight with some dynamic performances this week.

On the opening day, Muric made headlines with 25 points as hosts Slovenia destroyed Turkey 80-61.

Muric was outstanding one year ago at the U18 European Championship for Men (Division B) when he averaged almost 13 points and six rebounds per contest.

Serbia's Musli then poured in 24 points and hauled in 11 boards but his team slipped up 89-86 to France, who got 15 points from Evan Fournier.

Muric continued his excellent form the following day by torching France for 21 points in a 76-63 triumph.

Musli had 17 points for Serbia in their second game but it was Turkey, who lost 83-80, who had the standout performance of the tournament.

Kanter erupted for 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in defeat for the Turks.

Can Mutaf scored 22 points for Turkey on day three and led them to an 81-71 victory over France while Serbia overcame Slovenia 75-66 with Musli again on song.

He finished with 22 points.

"In this tournament we have seen some of the best teams in Europe that will also compete in the European Championship Division A," Muric said.

"I think We played a great opening game, while at the back of the game plan came to our fatigue.

"In this tournament, we proved that we can play and we also built self-confidence."
