Okockyte, Lithuania Hand France Their First Loss

Guard Santa Okockyte found her range in Lithuania's game against France Tuesday to lead her team to an important 69-64 victory in the U18 European Championship Women 2010.

Okockyte had suffered from poor shooting in a few of her team's previous games, but on Tuesday she was back in business, posting 29 points with 66.6 percentage field goal percentage.

Lithuania used a 12-0 run at the end of the first quarter to take a 23-11.

France went scoreless for almost four minutes in the second quarter when the Baltic side stretched the gap to 17 points. But France, helped by Margaux Galliou's performance, bounced back with a 17-3 run of their own to get within striking distance, 31-28 before the break.

Sabrine Bouzenna hit both foul shots that put Les Bleues ahead 64-63 with 3:44 left in the final quarter, but Okockyte made a layup and then Paulina Zaveckaite sealed the win with two baskets.
