After a truly stellar summer last year playing for the National Team at the U18 European Championships when she averaged 18.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, Santa Okockyte is now pushing for a surprise place on the bench with the senior team. While the smart money is probably on her only making it with the U20 Team this year, there is a small chance that Coach Paulauskas might just find space for the 19 year old guard. Okocyte plays her club basketball in her home town for the young LKKA-Aistes team and was the star of the team last season with some stunning numbers. Despite her tender age, she has already shown lots of versatility and suggested she has the potential to establish herself at the elite level in years to come. |
