Giedre Paugaite has been one of major rising stars within the Lithuanian camp after a fantastic season in EuroLeague Women with VICI Aistes Kaunas where she led many statistical categories. Still only 20-years-old, Paugaite has so much potential still to realise and if she continues at the same rate of development, she could establish herself as a major player within European basketball in years to come. Always liable to block a shot and with quick hands which enable her to come up with a good ratio of steals for a frontcourt player, her defence has never been in question. However the offence is now also evolving nicely and she is known as the player with the best leaping ability in Lithuania. She played only a handful of minutes at EuroBasket Women 2009 in Latvia, but this time around her impact will surely be far greater.
