Linas Kleiza - EuroBasket 2013 Profile

Team 2012-13: Toronto Raptors (Canada-NBA)
Career: Missouri Tigers (USA-NCAA, 2002-05); Denver Nuggets (USA-NBA, 2005-09); Olympiacos Piraeus (2009-10); Toronto Raptors (Canada-NBA, 2010-13)

Ever since the Turkish fairy tale of Lithuania's bronze-medal run in the 2010 FIBA World Championship, Linas Kleiza's career has spiralled downhill. Plagued by injuries, the Lithuanian forward never had a real chance to show his skills for the Toronto Raptors after suffering a serious meniscal tear in his right knee and going on to play a combined total of only 108 games for the Canadian team over three seasons. Although he was still the leader of the Lithuanian national team in the London Olympics, with 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds, he was not even remotely as dominant as in 2010. However, despite sitting out the majority of the past season, Kleiza claims he is healthy and fully ready to go for the EuroBasket in Slovenia, which is a positive sign for Lithuanian fans, but should be taken cautiously, knowing the recent injury history of the player. Still only 28, Kleiza is determined to show that his best years are not a distant memory and he is still capable of leading the team to the medals in Slovenia.
