These are exciting times for Jonas Valanciunas with the teenager having impressed enough to find himself in the last 14 for the tournament. Whether he makes it onto the bench remains to be seen but it's all happening in his young career right now having just completed a debut season in Euroleague, preparing to try his hand in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors and of course leading his country to gold with an MVP performance at the FIBA U19 World Championship. A big talent in every way, the center is viewed as being the future of the Lithuanian frontcourt and with his terrific finishing, rebounding and shot blocking skills, it's hard to argue with those predicitions. Perhaps EuroBasket 2011 may come a little early for him to make a big impression but he has done everything possible during preparations to impress including a double-double performance in a warm-up game against the Czech Republic.
