Vytenis Cizauskas received a surprise call-up to the national team after some solid performances in the 2013 Universiade in Kazan, where he averaged 10.9 points and 3.4 assists as the starting point guard. Having won five consecutive gold medals at youth level with the 1992-born Golden Generation, which also included Jonas Valanciunas, the 20-year-old guard will arrive to training camp as the youngest player on the roster. However, with the existing point guard problem, coach Jonas Kazlauskas did not hesitate and invited the prospect to try his luck with the seniors. Cizauskas spent the last season in Spain with Blancos de Rueda Valladolid, where he only had a minor role, averaging 2.6 points, but had a chance to go up against some of the best guards in Europe, which should be of benefit to him in the preparations.
