Latvia To Meet Ukraine For Fifth

Sabine Niedola had another outstanding showing in leading Latvia to a 83-73 over-time victory over Lithuania to reach the Fifth Place Game of the U20 European Championship for Women, where they will meet Ukraine.

Niedola gathered 21 points, 22 rebounds and five steals - the 17-year-old Latvian star talent's sixth game with at least 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Lithuania Beat Belarus In Another Blowout

Gintare Petronyte scored 32 points as Lithuania notched their second consecutive blowout win at the U20 European Championship for Women - this time with an 81-46 victory over Belarus.

Joining Petronyte in double figures was Saule Kontauitaite with 14 points while Sarune Jasiunskaite added nine points and 10 rebounds for Lithuania, who improved to 2-3 in the Qualifying Round Group F in Sulmona.

Lithuania Streak Past Montenegro

Gintare Petronyte tallied 31 points and 12 rebounds as Lithuania could do little wrong in streaking past Montenegro 100-48 in Group F of the U20 European Championship for Women.

The captain had 15 points and seven rebounds in the first quarter for Lithuania, who improved to 1-3 in the Qualifying Round group.

Spain Struggle But Stay Unbeaten

Spain were less than dominating but found a way to beat Lithuania 66-54 and remain perfect at the U20 European Championship for Women.

Anna Carbo tallied 21 points and fellow back-court mate Gaby Ocete added 12 points and seven steals as Spain moved to 3-0 and stayed even with Russia atop Group F in Sulmona.
