Lithuania Book Early Ticket



Arturas Gudaitis had 10 points and 10 rebounds as Lithuania crushed Latvia 86-45 to remain undefeated at the U18 European Championship and book their spot in the quarterfinals early.

Mantas Mockevicius scored 13 points and Tomas Lekunas also hit for 10 for Lithuania, who joined Spain in the final eight with a 3-0 record in the Qualifying Round Group F.

Latvia, who dropped to 0-3 in the group, shot just 27 percent in the game with Klavs Strazdins leading the team in scoring with eight points.

Latvia scored the first four points of the game but Lithuania came back to lead 15-8 and then 21-10 before finishing the first quarter up 27-16.

The Lithuanians finished the second quarter on a 13-2 run for a 47-26 advantage at the break.
Lithuania continued to build their lead in the third period and ended the quarter ahead 66-38.

And the Lithuanians started the fourth quarter on a 13-1 surge to put away Latvia for good - pushing the advantage to 43 points late in the game.
