Vitalija Kaminskyte gave Lithuania the lead to start the game but the Belgian defense put the locks on Zivile Mikalauskaite's attack and reeled off a 10-0 run. The lead grew to 13-4 on Lut De Meyer's foul shot before Lithuania would pull to within 14-8 after one period. Grigalauskyte and Gabija Morkunaite opened the second quarter with baskets to make it a two-point game only to see Meylemans and Lynn Delvaux hit long balls to help Belgium pull away again. And Vanloo's triple allowed Belgium to go into the locker-rooms ahead 25-15.
Vanloo spearheaded an 11-0 run early in the second half for a 20-point lead 36-16 and it was still 20 points after Meylemans's foul shot for a 43-23 scoreline. Zaveckaite began producing for Mikalauskaite's side and helped Lithuania trail just 51-36 after three periods. But Belgium blew the game wide open in the early stages of the fourth with Meesseman scoring six points and Meylemans knocking down a three-ball in a 20-5 run for a 73-43 advantage.
