Sabine Niedola is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and arrives at EuroBasket Women 2011 having just completed her first season overseas playing in the French League and in EuroCup Women with Nantes. Still one of the youngest members on the National Team roster having just turned 20-years-old, this is already the second major tournament for the forward after appearing at EuroBasket Women 2009. An MVP of the Latvian League where she began to dominate in games and also finished as top scorer while still a teenager, she has had a good first season in France and made use of the skills she showed to such great effect through the youth categories where she won a gold in Division B at U18 level and was on the All Tournament Team after a U20 bronze last summer. Quick hands and good passing skills are a bonus in addition to her scoring and rebounding capabilities. Looks destined to be a major player for the Latvian National team in the very near future. |
