Gunta Basko
Career: RTU/Klondaika Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 1995-98), Siena (USA-NCAA, 1999-2003), Ramat Hasharon (Israel-D1, 2003-04), Tarbes Gespe Basket (France-LFB, 2004-06), Lattes-Maurin Montpellier (France-LFB, 2006-08), Halcon Avenida (Spain-LFB, 2008-09), Umana Reyer Venezia (Italy-A1, 2009-10), Wisla Can Pack (Poland-PLKK, 2010-11)

After more than a decade with the National Team, the quality and enthusiasm of Gunta Basko refuses to fade. She remains as influential as ever, using all of her experience and basketball IQ to get results. Her aggressive approach and ability to play in multiple positions makes her an asset to any team and as she has consistently showed, she is able to produce at the elite level for club and country at major tournaments. Her tenacious defence is always a problem for opponents while she can finish at the hoop, run the floor or make jump shots on offence. She also works tirelessly for the team and will rebound incessantly. With 12 years of playing at various EuroBasket Women tournaments behind her, she continues to be a real leader who thrives on the challenge - something evidenced by efforts last summer when she stepped up yet again to help the team progress. She will again be the player that everyone looks up to and as the heartbeat of the team, her contribution at EuroBasket Women 2011 will be key.
