The Latvian women's team head into their European Championship qualifying campaign full of confidence after their recent performances in Turkey.
The Latvians are in Group B along with Ukraine, Slovakia and Croatia, with their opening match against the Croatians in Riga on Wednesday.
Head coach Armands Kraulins said: "The girls proved that they want to practice, want to play and want to win. And they showed that they can win - the mood is very good in the team and our performance is improving all the time.
"We only lost to the Turks in the final minute. I was pleasantly surprised that all our girls were playing very well, and that we had a good performance even without our three key players."
