|Rauls Avenitis was back for Latvia with 23 points after two rather quiet games in a row|
Latvia have won the battle of the hosts at the Dadu U16 European Championship Men, defeating Lithuania 82-74 to set up a ninth place classification game against Greece who waltzed past Ukraine 80-64 earlier in the night.
Following two quiet nights in which he only managed to score 10 points collectively, Rauls Avenitis was back to his damaging best against Lithuania, leading Latvia to victory with 23 points.
After a tight opening quarter, Latvia began to run away with the game in the second frame, holding an 11-point advantage when the buzzer sounded. They continued to pull away from a flat Lithuanian side following the break with Lithuania only managing to bring some respectability back into the score-line once the game had already been decided.
Domantas Sabonis picked up his fourth double-double of the tournament with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Earlier in the day Dimitrios Stamatis showed that his game against Lithuania was nothing more than a quiet night, scoring 21 points to take Greece past a Ukrainian team who have now lost five consecutive games.
Keeping it close in the first half, Ukraine failed to fire in the third quarter, scoring just nine points to allow the Greeks to run away with the game.
Vaseileios Charalampopoulos supported Stamatis with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Oleksandr Kobets and Nikita Voievoda both ended with 12 points for Ukraine.
