Latvia stayed in the race for a Quarter-Final spot at the U20 European Championship by defeating Lithuania, 78-75, in a do-or-die Second Round Baltic derby on Tuesday.
The Lithuanians were leading by four points with a minute and a half left in the game, but Janis Timma scored two points and Ojars Silins converted an and-one play to give Latvia a 74-73 lead.
Lithuania had a chance at winning the game after an inbound turnover, but they couldn't secure possession and had to acknowledge defeat.
Janis Timma and Arnolds Helmanis had 15 points each for Latvia, while Marcis Vitols chipped in with 13 points.
Edgaras Ulanovas made 3-of-5 three-pointers and finished the game with 15 points for Lithuania.
Both Latvia and Lithuania will need to win on the final day of Group F action, with the Latvians facing Italy and Lithuania playing against Slovenia.
