Club Team 2012-13: UTEP (USA-NCAA)
Career: TTT Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 2006-09), UTEP (USA-NCAA, 2009-13)
Highly rated, Steinberga has never played at a major tournament, but did play a role last year in qualifying when she posted some promising performances. She recently graduated from UTEP, averaging 15.6 points and 7.4 rebounds-per-game during her senior season. She was one of only four players in school history to amass over 1,000 points, win championships, earn All Conference USA honours and even establish a school record for a staggering 23 consecutive double-digit points hauls. Previously she almost decided to quit the game in favour of her love for the arts after a frustrating start. As well as competing for court time in France, she will play her first pro-season when the tournament has concluded, hoping to transfer her post moves, rebounding prowess and ability to run the floor. She also has an almost telepathic understanding with Sabine Niedola, which manifested itself during a fruitful youth career and that on-court dynamic could soon be re-ignited.
