Offering power in the paint and great versatility, Putnina is a talented player who is essential to the success of the national team and even more so now that a couple of experienced ‘bigs' have retired. The forward showed her value last summer during the 2nd Qualification Round when she grabbed more boards than any of her team-mates and also showed her ability to convert from the perimeter consistently if she finds herself unguarded. With great fundamentals a big upside of her game, she also brings Olympic experience to the table, having played briefly in Beijing during 2008. This will be her third Final Round, having missed out on France two years ago due to injury. She has regularly played in European club competitions and, having started last season in EuroCup Women with Pinkk Pecsi 424, she switched to Italy.
