After only a minute of action in the qualifiers last year due to injury, Liepkalne looks like being back stronger than ever. She has just posted the best club season of her career with Bembibre in Liga Femenina, where she shot the ball brilliantly from the arc. With a nicely balanced inside-outside approach, the forward has never been in a better position to demonstrate she can be a part of the core rotation and a valued contributor. She played in the NCAA in Hawaii and seems to have finally found a good level to show her skills. This would be her second Final Round appearance, after being a left-field choice in France two years ago, when having not appeared during qualification and six years after last playing at the U20 European Championship Women, she was thrown a senior debut.
