Turning Point: Davis Geks shoots an air ball with 5:26 to play in the final frame. Lithuania proceeds to go on the fast-break with Justas Tamulis laying it up to open the Lithuanian lead to five points. Latvia do not come back again.

Game Hero: Lukas Lekavicius. The point guard provided the glue to pull together an all-round team effort.

Stats Don't Lie: Lithuania go five-for-13 from downtown, whilst Latvia go five-for-21.

Lithuania have built on the support of the partisan crowd at Siemens Arena to go past Latvia 65-53 and set up a date with Serbia in the semi-finals of the Samsung U18 European Championship.

Despite leading for the majority of the game victory only became apparent for Arunas Visockas' men midway through the final quarter when Latvia failed to score a point for three minutes, allowing Lithuania to move their lead into double figures.

Both teams were slow at building into the game with a number of shots going amiss as Latvia's good defence at one end of the court was being let down by poor shooting at the other, allowing the hosts to carry a one-point lead into the second frame.

The scoring failed to pick up in the second period and at the end of a low-scoring first half, it was Lithuania leading by four points.

Latvia stayed close throughout the third period as their perimeter game began to pick up, but when the frame ended it was the home team still in front by four.

Soon after hitting his second three-pointer of the night, Latvia's Davis Geks was looking to add a third but when the ball hit nothing but air, Lithuania pounced, setting up the fast-break for an easy two points to sink the Latvian resistance.

Visockas used a 10-man rotation with nine players scoring. Marius Grigonis ended as the only Lithuanian in double figures with 16 points. Denis Krestinin finished with nine points and nine boards.

Geks had 12 points for Latvia, whilst Ilja Gromovs finished with 10 rebounds and seven points.
