Latvia coach Ainars Bagatskis is hoping youngsters Mareks Mejeris and Martins Meiers can step up after injuries began to hit his squad this week.
Andrejs Selakovs has suffered a groin injury, which will sideline him for around two weeks, although he will stay with the team in the hope of recovering in time to play at the EuroBasket.
Meanwhile, Pavels Veselovs has undergone surgery on a minor problem and will also miss time.
Mejeris and Meiers joined the team earlier this week after starring for the U20s at the European Championship in Bilbao last week, and the injuries could give them their chance.
"They have been training well, surprisingly well," said Bagatskis. "They have been given a chance and they are using it.
"I just hope we don't have any more problems in the team."
The squad is due to head to Poland this weekend, with friendly games against Lithuania and Slovenia scheduled next week.
Latvia have been drawn in Group B for the EuroBasket, and will face Italy, Israel, France, Germany and Serbia.
