Hosts Latvia finished off their Qualifying Round action at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women with a convincing 85-65 victory over Ukraine in Group F.
Sabine Niedola collected 17 points and 12 rebounds in leading four players in double figures scoring as Latvia improved to 2-3 to take fourth place in the group and play in the 5th-8th place games.
Linda Pagrode added 16 points for Latvia, Anna Sonka had 14 points and Kristine Vitola chipped in 10 points.
Olesya Malashenko had another outstanding game for the Ukrainians with 29 points and 16 rebounds.
But the rest of the team struggled, including Ol'Ha Maznichenko who had seven points and nine rebounds - well below her averages of 14.0 points and 9.8 rebounds.
Playing in front of a packed house in Valmiera, Latvia opened a 14-4 gap to start the game and pushed that advantage to 18 points late in the first half.
And a 13-5 run out of the break made the lead 24 points - 55.31. And the Latvians never looked back from there.
Ukraine dropped to 1-4 and will play for ninth-12th place.
