Sweden Grab Fifth From Russia

Cleopatra Forsman B. Goga collected 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals as Sweden captured a best-ever fifth-place showing at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women by beating Russia 60-55.

Amanda Zahui Bazoukou had 16 points and 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the U16 event.

Sweden Hold Off Hosts, Play For Fifth

Sweden will play for fifth place at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women after holding hosts Latvia scoreless for nearly the final four minutes in collecting 55-47 victory.

Cleopatra Forsman B. Goga scored 14 points while Farhiya Abdi had 11 points and Amanda Zahui Bazoukou's 14 rebound helped the Swedes to a 42-30 rebounding advantage.

Hosts Latvia Crush Ukraine

Hosts Latvia finished off their Qualifying Round action at the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women with a convincing 85-65 victory over Ukraine in Group F.

Sabine Niedola collected 17 points and 12 rebounds in leading four players in double figures scoring as Latvia improved to 2-3 to take fourth place in the group and play in the 5th-8th place games.

France Defeat Latvia, Edge Closer To Semis

Diandra Tchatchouang collected 23 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots in helping France take a giant step towards the semi-finals of the Termosteps U16 European Championship Women with a 73-65 victory over Latvia.

France remained undefeated in the tournament and 4-0 in Group F.
