Karline Nimane has been pushing to achieve a breakthrough at senior National Team level for a couple of years now off the back of some strong performances for Latvia at youth level. She helped win successive bronze medals at the U20 European Championship Women in 2009 and 2010 while at club level, after lining up for hometown side SK Cesis, she moved to arch rivals TTT Riga last summer. That gave her an opportunity to step up into EuroLeague Women where she found the going tough but the experience invaluable. Nimane has good athleticism and is an excellent rebounder and free throw shooter who can also convert from the perimeter. |
