Career: INSEP (France-3rd Div., 1997-99), Bondy (France-Pro B, 1999-2000), Paris BR (2000-05).
The second scoring force behind Tony Parker while at INSEP, Mamoutou has developed a bit slower than some players of his generation. Probably because he is a bit fragile and experienced a lot of injuries that cost him 10 to 15 games per season. More frustrating, all of his injuries came when he seemed on the verge of having climbed a few step on the ladder… Very athletic, Diarra has built a reliable three point shot these past two years. Called upon in the National Team for the first time last summer partly for his new ability to shoot from outside. The coach loves his unselfish attitude and also knows that he needs shooters to prevent teams from doing 40 minutes of zone defense during the EuroBasket… His brother, Oxmo Puccino, is a famous rap singer in France. |
