A Slovak Republic legend, Zirkova made an eagerly anticipated return to national team action last summer to help her side stamp a pass to Hungary and Romania. Having taken a sabbatical from the game for a while, she first came back to Good Angels Kosice and EuroLeague Women to re-ignite the flame of a sparkling career which many fans had feared may have been blown out for good. Instead, she is showing her veteran class and the kind of shooting prowess and scoring power which illuminated her earlier days and led to her playing for a host of top European clubs. Recognised as one of the most offensively talented players in Europe and one of the best to have ever come out of Slovakia, it is exactly two decades since she first wore the colours of her country. She last played at a Final Round some six years ago and poured in over 15 points per game, but don't think she is only about offence as she is a wily defender and has always had an eye for a killer pass.
