EUROLEAGUE WOMENCras Basket Taranto completed a remarkable turnaround to advance to the Quarter-Finals of the EuroLeague Women, crushing an injury-plagued ZVVZ USK Prague team 83-49.
Cras Basket Taranto had needed a dramatic 75-73 win in Game Two to stay alive after losing the opener heavily, 73-56, at home.
But no one would have believed the team that played Game 3 could have lost that opener so heavily.
Dubravka Dacic and Kathy Wambe scored 16 points each to lead five Taranto players scoring in double figures while a big defensive night saw Prague held to just 11-of-41 (26.8%) shooting in the paint and 2-of-13 (15.3%) from long-range.
Taranto had edged the first half to take a 39-27 lead into the locker room.
But the final two points of the first half, Sophia Young's jump-shot, would prove to be the start of a 22-5 run capped by Dacic's jump-shot that made it 59-32 late in the third-quarter.
Megan Mahoney had 13 points and nine rebounds while Elodie Godin had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jami Montagnino also scored in double figures with 11 points.
Katerina Elhotova led Prague with 12 while DeLisha Milton-Jones had 10.
